Mel lives in beautiful North Devon, not far from well visited sites such as the Exmoor National Park, along with her very own muse, Pebble.
She is primarily known for her oil paintings of everyone's favourite canine companions, however as a lover of wildlife, you'll often find the Red Deer Stag gracing her easel.
The Passion
The Passion
Mel spends many hours observing and photographing her subjects, before using oil paints on linen canvas to capture the individuality and character of the animal. Having a real affection for dogs, she loves their energy and enthusiasm for life.

Her passion for art and animals has led Mel to producing many paintings for various charities, including K9 focus, a local charity that rescues dogs from all over the UK and Northern Ireland. Please see their website for the terrific work they do by clicking here.
Inspired by many great artists such as the late David Shepherd, the late Rien Poortvliet, Robert Bateman, Robert Harris-Ching, Rosa Bonheur and fantasy artists such as Boris Vallejo and Julie Bell, Mel continues to learn and grow as an artist herself.
