Contact Mel via the contact us page by clicking here.
Following receiving the email, Mel will have a conversation with you regarding the nature of your commission.
Next, Mel will ask you to send your best photograph (or more than one, if possible) to her via email or post. Click here for a guide on how best to photograph your dog. Please be sure to send copies of the photographs, rather than the originals to avoid the risk of losing them. All photographs sent via post will be cared for carefully and returned to you once the commission is completed.
Once Mel has received the photographs, she will do an initial sketch of the painting. This sketch will be sent to you by email, and should you be happy for Mel to continue, she will then require a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the commission price. Payments can be completed by cheque or bank transfer.
The painting will take approximately 3 months to complete, though during busy times this estimate may increase. If you have a particular date in mind for completion, please be sure to include this in your initial contact and Mel will advise you as to whether she can meet the deadline. In addition, please specify if the commission is a gift or surprise for someone.
Mel will finally contact you once the painting is complete and ready to be posted. She will then require the remaining payment including postage. On receipt of this payment, Mel will then ship your painting to you via Royal Mail.
Please contact Mel to discuss your requirements, she's more than happy to be flexible. More than one dog will always require a bespoke canvas, as she likes to canvas to fit the dogs, rather than trying to squeeze them into a certain limited space. As such, the time required for completion will be extended, as these canvases will be custom made.
The painting will be unframed, unless requested specifically otherwise. Please be aware, should you wish it framed, the postage and packaging cost will be increased.
